Emily Brewster, MSW, LSWAIC, MHP

My name is Emily Brewster, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and I am honored to accompany individuals and families along their path to healing and self-discovery. I believe therapy is an opportunity to explore, heal, and grow. My orientation to therapy is strength-based and trauma informed, with intentional focus on relationships, resilience, culture, and consideration for lived experience. My aim is to reduce human suffering and honor the values of each individual and family system, while empowering them with tools to cultivate change, meaning, and purpose in life. I believe that everyone has the potential to make meaningful changes that draw them closer to what matters most.

My approach to therapy is deeply personalized and flexible, blending evidence-based tools with compassion and a heartfelt commitment to your wellbeing. I have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure-Based Therapies, and other mindfulness and attachment focused approaches. I hold deep respect and gratitude for this work, and I find my time spent supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief, and trauma to be incredibly rewarding. I am also a US Army Veteran and am honored to support other Veterans and military-connected individuals and families from all branches and walks of life.

In therapy, we will explore how your current relationships and behavior patterns are influenced by thoughts, emotions, and past experiences. You will learn valuable skills to increase self-compassion, work through painful emotions, soothe your nervous system, and live more aligned with your values. Together, we will unearth your inner strengths and empower you with the skills to ride the waves of life more effectively. With commitment and the right kind of support, relief and recovery are possible.

“But this revolutionary act of treating ourselves tenderly can begin to undo the aversive messages of a
lifetime.”
