David Minter
License Clinical Social Worker
My professional journey includes serving as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa, working as a Tennessee State Parole Officer, and spending twelve years as a case manager in therapeutic foster care with at-risk youth at Family Solutions. Additionally, I have a decade of experience as a clinical therapist at La Clinica’s School-Based Health Centers in Central Point, Oregon. I also have 20 years of experience working with children with Autism, deafness, and special needs.
My practice is enriched by a diverse range of experiences and cultural knowledge, enabling me to connect deeply with clients from various backgrounds. My counseling philosophy is from a family systems perspective focused on trauma-informed care.
I employ a variety of therapeutic approaches, including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Solution-focused therapy, collaborative problem-solving, brainspotting, mindfulness, and nature based therapeutic modalities. As a systemic therapist, I am trained to identify patterns within relationships and understand the intricate dynamics that shape us.
I encourage active participation in the therapeutic process, inviting clients to ask questions about the techniques and methods introduced in our sessions. Together, we can navigate a path to growth and healing, fostering understanding and facilitating personal and social success.
