Michaela Ortega
Marriage and Family Registered Associate
My name is Michaela Ortega, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the state of Oregon. I earned my undergraduate degree in Sociology from Illinois State University and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in Couple’s Therapy, from North Central University.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that everything you need is already within you. My role is to walk alongside you as we rediscover that vibrant, curious, and wise adult within. I have a passion for working with individuals and couples who are navigating challenges such as communication issues, frequent conflict, codependency, trauma, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, betrayal, and sex addiction or compulsive sexual behavior.
In my practice, I utilize several therapeutic frameworks, including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and inner child and reparenting work. These approaches allow me to support clients in healing past wounds, strengthening their relationships, and fostering deeper self-awareness.
EMDR Trained (EMDRIA)
IFS Informed
I look forward to walking this journey of growth and healing with you.
