Courtney Olcott
Professional Counselor Associate
I believe in a client-centered, strengths-based approach to treatment and adopt a holistic perspective, considering biological, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual components of each individual. My approach is based on my belief that personal challenges can inspire growth and deeper healing when the experiences are processed in meaningful ways. I create a supportive environment, based on a warm and dynamic relationship, to facilitate awareness, insight, and compassion. Drawing from an eclectic array of counseling theories, I work with each client to develop mutually acceptable goals for treatment using modalities such as family therapy, solution-focused and cognitive behavioral techniques to achieve those goals.
I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, a Master of Public Health (MPH,) and a PhD in Health Behavior from Indiana University. For over two decades, I have been working in behavioral health as a provider in addition to being a public health professional focusing on substance abuse prevention and mental health promotion. I draw from years of experience and multiple perspectives to assist a client in reaching life goals and increasing wellness.
