Krista Olson
Professional Counselor Intern
I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals on their journey of self-transformation and healing, with a special focus on mothers, families, and adventure athletes. Currently, I am an intern student pursuing a Master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University, complemented by additional studies at the Somatic Nature Therapy Institute.
Self-Transformation
In my practice, I believe in the power of whole-person healing, which encompasses the body, heart, mind, and spirit. My approach is to hold space for you to reconnect with the wisdom and resources that you already possess within yourself. Together, we can acknowledge and integrate past identities, memories, and challenges, allowing for the emergence of greater strength and ease. Through embodiment practices, I guide you to connect with your body and the way it holds trauma and stress. By tuning into physical sensations and emotions, we work together to release old tensions and pain, paving the way for healing, expression, and the creation of a life filled with vibrant authenticity.
Mothers and Families
I am honored to walk alongside mothers and families during significant life transitions. This includes the profound experiences of birth, miscarriage, baby loss, postpartum depression or anxiety, and the everyday challenges of parenting. These moments often bring forth a new version of yourself, and it can be easy to overlook this merging of old and new identities, especially amidst sleep deprivation, overstimulation, and the demands of caring for others. I am passionate about helping mamas and their families find the space and support they need to embrace their whole selves during these challenging, beautiful, and transformative times.
Adventure Athletes
For adventure athletes, I offer support through Adventure Mindful Retreats and individual sessions. In the expansive freedom of training endeavors and awe-inspiring landscapes, our bodies and minds often unlock deep layers of identity, bringing memories, physical experiences, and emotions to the surface. Through therapeutic support, I provide a space for you to be seen and held, allowing these experiences to sequence through and deepen. Together, we can give full attention to everything that emerges along your journey, fostering growth and healing.
Therapeutic Practice Influences
My approach is informed by Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Therapeutic Nature-Based Practices, Attachment Theory, Gestalt, and Internal Family Systems (Parts Work). These frameworks guide my work, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet your unique needs and support your path to healing.
In my personal time, I find joy in spending time with my husband and our three children on our small lifestyle farm. I enjoy gardening, herbalism, caring for animals, trail running, camping, reading, and photography. These activities ground me and bring balance to my life, allowing me to bring my full self to the work I do with clients.
