 Therapeutic Approach

I am deeply passionate about mental health and committed to helping others navigate emotional and psychological challenges with compassion and understanding. As a Navy veteran with seven years of service, I had the privilege of working with vulnerable and isolated populations, which ignited my desire to support individuals in finding strength and resilience.

Raised in Medford, I have deep roots in the community and have spent much of my career supporting others. I began my journey in mental health as a Community Health Worker at Rogue Community Health, helping adults navigate resources for food, clothing, employment, and mental health support. This experience sparked my passion for mental health and has guided my approach ever since.

With experience as a certified Health and Life Coach, I have learned how to help individuals break down goals into meaningful, achievable steps, fostering empowerment and fulfillment. My background in physical education and health, combined with my current work in the school district, has reinforced my belief in the mind-body connection. I see the impact that physical movement and emotional regulation can have on mental well-being.

Currently, I am in my final year of the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University. I work with at-risk youth, many of whom face anxiety, depression, and trauma. I teach emotional regulation, including the concept of “flipping the lid,” and help students develop strategies to self-regulate. I also focus on mastering my ability to de-escalate elevated situations and guide students back to emotional baseline through calming techniques and mindfulness practices.

In my counseling practice, I utilize approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed methods that address inner child and childhood trauma. These allow clients to process past experiences, manage emotional challenges, and build resilience. I am passionate about helping individuals understand the power of their own minds, take control of their lives, and navigate challenges with professional support and therapeutic guidance.

I believe in the transformative power of emotional regulation and self-awareness, and my goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals feel empowered to make lasting change, find inner peace, and cultivate balance in their lives. Whether it’s helping a student manage anxiety, adjustment to life situations, a young adult overcome lack of motivation in their career or education, or an adult work through trauma and relationship challenges, my focus is on guiding individuals to achieve their potential, heal, and create the life they desire.
