Eric Houghton

Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor
I am a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Teaching, both earned from Southern Oregon University. Before transitioning to mental health work, I dedicated 12 years to teaching in the public schools and abroad. I am a father, husband, musician, and volunteer radio DJ for Jefferson Public Radio, where you can find me hosting The Folk Show on Sunday nights.
Professional Expertise: My expertise lies in supporting teens and adults grappling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, gender identity, and LGBTQ+ issues. I specialize in stress management, habit improvement, mindfulness, relationship building, and symptom reduction. With my background in education, I am particularly attuned to the distinct challenges faced by adolescents in the post-pandemic era. I am also a clinical supervisor here at Inner Peace.
Philosophy and Approach: Guided by a blend of humanistic, cognitive, behavioral, and systemic orientations, I firmly believe in the inherent potential for change, growth, and empowerment within each individual. I provide person-centered, trauma-informed, compassionate care, with the goal of assisting individuals, families, and couples in cultivating healthy and functional lives. Our collaborative journey will be grounded in mutual respect as we work to address life’s barriers.
