Welcome!

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to have mixed feelings about it. Just remember, you don’t have to go through this journey alone! I’m here to provide a safe, empathetic, warm, supportive space where we can explore healing together.

Education:

I’m currently an intern working toward my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, focusing on Childhood and Adolescent Disorders, and I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (2003) and have worked in all areas of nursing. I am firmly grounded in theories of the body/mind connection.

Goal:

My goal is to make our counseling sessions a true partnership, where we can tackle personal challenges, strengthen relationships, provide tools, and work on your overall wellness and growth.

Method:

I believe in using a collaborative approach, drawing from a mix of evidence-based strategies like Family Systems Theory, Childhood Developmental Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Adlerian Theory. This way, we can tailor our sessions just for you, helping you build resilience and create positive changes in your life. I’m excited to embark on this journey with you!

About Me:

My journey into counseling began as a struggling teen myself, a time when I felt alone and so misunderstood. My first encounter with a therapist back then was a pivotal moment in my life where I was able to feel less alone, encouraged, and empowered. I had always hoped to be this kind of support for others. I am a wife and mother to four teenagers who are all unique and different in their own ways, and I love being their mom. My family and I have lived in many unique places in the world, like Papua New Guinea, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, and Alaska.  Some of my favorite things include cooking/baking, gardening, the sunshine, swimming, books, historical art, cats, hiking, and Asain and Polynesian culture.
